PHYLOGENETIC METHODS - PHENOMICS - GENOMICS - DUNG BEETLES - INSECTS - SYSTEMATICS
Welcome to Tarasov Lab! Our research strives to understand the evolutionary processes that shaped the stunning diversity of organismal forms on Earth. We employ an interdisciplinary approach that involves biosystematics, statistical modeling, development of new phylogenetic methods and ontology-based tools for descriptive taxonomy. Our focal group of organisms is Dung Beetles (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae: Scarabaeinae), but we are not solely confined to them and are broadly interested in other insects too.
